Enosburgh is a town in Franklin County, Vermont.

Enosburgh includes the village of Enosburg Falls and the settlements of Bordoville, East Enosburgh, North Enosburgh, Sampsonville, West Enosburgh, and Enosburgh Center. Enosburgh was named for Roger Enos, who had been a commander of all the Vermont Forces in the American Revolution. He was also the father-in-law of Ira Allen, founder of Vermont.

Enosburg is a small town in northern Vermont, known for its dairy farms and scenic countryside.

Enosburgh was chartered on May 15, 1780 by the Vermont Legislature.
One of the six towns (others being Berkshire, Richford, Montgomery, Wyllis (now Jay) and Westfield) granted in 1780 as a means of raising money to pay for Vermont's participation in the Revolution. The town is named for General Roger Enos, who had been commander of all Vermont forces; he was also Ira Allen's father-in-law. The spelling of Enosburgh differs from the spelling of Enosburg Falls.

Enosburgh includes the village Enosburg Falls and the locations Bordoville, East Enosburgh, North Enosburgh, Sampsonville, West Enosburgh, and Enosburgh Center.

Enosburgh, Vermont
Franklin county. Missisque, Trout and other streams give this town excellent water privileges, and manufacturing establishments flourish. The surface of the town is pleasantly diversified by hills and valleys, and well adapted for grazing. The products of the town are cattle, butter, cheese and wool.—First settled, 1797. Population, 1830, 1,560. Enosburgh lies 43 miles N. by E. from Montpelier and 20 N.E. from St. Albans.

1849 Enosburg
FRANKLIN CO. The surface of this township is pleasantly diversified with hills and valleys; but the soil is better adapted to the production of grass than grain. It is well watered by Missisco River and by Trout River, which runs across the north-east corner, and by two considerable streams, which run through the south part. These streams afford numerous and excellent mill privileges.

Boundaries. North by Berkshire, east by Montgomery and a part of Richford, south by Bakersfield, and west by Sheldon.

First Settlers. The settlement of this township was commenced in the spring of 1797 by Amos Fassett, Stephen House, Martin D. Follett, and others, mostly emigrants from other townships in this state.

First Ministers. A Congregational Church was formed here in 1811, and in 1814 the Rev. James Parker took charge of it, and it continued under his pastoral care till 1821.

E'nosburg, a post-village of Franklin co, Vt., about 40 miles N.E. of Burlington. It has 2 churches. Butter is one of its staple products. Pop. of township, 2299.

Enosburg Fails, a post-village of Franklin co, Vt. on the Missisquoi River, and on the Central Vermont Railroad, 18 miles E.N.E. of St. Albans. It has 4 churches, a flouring-mill, a carriage-factory, a woollen-mill, and maufactures of patent medicines. The river affords great water-power here. Pop. about 400.
