1891 - Settlers arrive in St Lupicin from Lozere, France
There is a roadside plaque in the village of St. Lupicin, in the Rural Municipality of Lorne, commemorates settlers of this area who came here from Lozere, France. The family of settler Jean-Antoine Bourrier (1831-1917) left France in April 1891 and arrived here in mid-October 1891. Their home was used as a church for some years. The Bourrier, Chaleil, Portal, Soulodre, Chabidon, Brunel, and Bergeron families homesteaded in this vicinity.
