1854 - Warsaw
Warsaw, a post-village in Warsaw township, and capital of Wyoming county, New York, on Allen's creek, and on the Buffalo and New York City railroad, 48 miles E. by 8. from Buffalo. The public buildings arc neat and commodious. It contains 4 churches, a bank, 2 hotels, a large Union school house, a woollen factory, a carpet factory, and a flouring mill. Two newspapers are published here. Settled in 1803. Population of the township, 2624.

Warsaw, a post-village and summer resort, capital of Wyoming co., N.Y., in Warsaw township, in the beautiful valley of the Oatka, and on the Erie and Rochester & State Line Railroads, 48 miles E.S.E. of Buffalo, and 43 miles S.W. of Rochester. It contains a court-house, 6 churches, a union free school, a national bank, 1 other bank, 3 or 4 newspaper offices, 2 broom-factories, a barrel factory, and several mills. Here is a union school-house which cost $40,000. The township is diversified by ravines and waterfalls, and presents attractive scenery. Pop. of the village in 1890, 3120; of the township, 4468.

It has manufactures of hosiery, buttons, and elevators. The town is diversified by ravines and water-falls and presents attractive scenery. Pop. of the village in 1900, 3048 ; of the town, 4341.

1907 - HEAD ON COLLISION. ONE MAN KILLED IN ACCIDENT NEAR WARSAW, N. Y.

Rochester, N. Y., Jan. 12. - Two freight trains were wrecked on the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railroad, near Warsaw, early today, in a head on collision.

Conductor JOHN F. O'BRIEN, of Rochester, who was riding in an engine, was killed.
