1926 - FIFTY-FOOT LEAP FATAL TO AVIATOR
VERO BEACH, Fla., April 18. - (AP) - A 50-foot leap from an airplane into the ocean in a student air circus this afternoon killed Julius W. Bell, 24, of Louisville, a volunteer performer.

Several thousand persons on shore witnessed the accident. He struck the surface on his back and ricocheted about 20 feet. The body did not appear on the surface again. Efforts to locate it were unsuccessful.
