About Sainte-Martine
Its territory covers nearly 60 square kilometers.
The name of the municipality honors Saint Martine, a virgin martyr, having lived in the 3rd century, daughter of Roman nobles, who devoted her fortune to works of charity (her feast day is fixed on January 30).
This municipality has always been recognized for its fertile land and consequently for agriculture. Indeed, here, in season, the corn fields stretch as far as the eye can see.
The Festi-Glace is the event of the year in Sainte-Martine and this celebration attracts neighbors from Châteauguay, Mercier and other towns and villages in the surrounding area. The Festi-Glace is held in February of each year.
