Pat Rooney Jr's Dog House, Lake Blaisdell, N.H., 1953

Pat Rooney Jr.'s "The Dog House" was located in South Sutton, New Hampshire, near Blaisdell Lake. Established in 1947 by Pat Rooney Jr. and his wife, Estelle Wright, the eatery was adjacent to Wright's Beach, a popular spot owned by Estelle's family. The Dog House became a beloved destination for both locals and visitors, known for its signature hot dogs and hamburgers, especially the "Specials" and "Supers" that featured their secret sauce.

The establishment operated for nearly four decades, closing its doors in 1984, five years after Pat's passing. Today, the legacy of The Dog House is fondly remembered in the South Sutton community, with occasional events recreating its nostalgic charm.
