Mayher Fountain and Park

The Mayher Fountain is located at the south end of Pulaski Park on Main Street in Easthampton, MA.

It was was a public drinking fountain built by Eleanor Mayher in 1902 as a memorial to her husband John Mahyer, a successful banker, inventor, and industrialist. John Mayher was a member of the Village Improvement Society and was a strong advocate for the construction of public water fountains.

The fountain was originally intended as a drinking fountain for use by people, horses, and dogs. It was destroyed when a tractor trailer crashed into the fountain, knocking it down and severing the water pipes under the sidewalk. It was restored by Bartlett Consolidated LLC.
