NOTE: There is a Michael John Skorvanek at 23 Brandon Rd Dudley in the WWII draft info on familysearch.org -- he is Slovak, b. Oct 15, 1882 - age 60. He is living with an Anna Skorvanek. Related? He is possibly the same Michel Skervanek listed in the 1920 US Census living in Dudley, MA - b. abt. 1884 in Hungary - lives with wife, Anna, and children: Anna, Michel and Justine. He is buried in St. Anthonys cemetery in Webster, Massachusetts.

DUDLEY Justine L. (Skorvanek) Harvanek, age 91, formerly of 21 Brandon Rd. died Wed. Sept. 24 at Webster Manor. She was the wife of the late John M. Harvanek Jr. who died in 2005. She leaves a son, John M. Harvanek III of North Chelmsford, MA and a daughter, Barbara A. Weiss of Thompson, CT. She had a brother and a sister who predeceased her, Michael Skorvanek Jr. of Dudley and Anne Dandurand of Webster. She also leaves 2 grandchildren and 3 great grand and 1 great great granddaughter.
She was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Stacho) Skorvanek Sr. and lived in Dudley most of her life.
A funeral will be held Mon. Sept. 29, 2008 from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Anthony’s of Padua Church, Dudley Hill Rd., Dudley and burial in St. Anthony’s Cemetery Webster. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sun. Sept. 28, 2008 from 6-8 PM.

Deceased Name: MICHAEL SKORVANEK JR.
DUDLEY - Michael J. Skorvanek Jr., 74, of 19 Brandon Road, was stricken ill and died Friday in his home.
He leaves his wife, Victoria (Zalewski) Skorvanek a son, Michael J. Skorvanek III of Webster a daughter, Nancy Makowski of North Andover a sister, Justine Harvanek of Dudley five grandchildren four nephews and four nieces.
Mr. and Mrs. Skorvanek observed their 48th wedding anniversary last Sept. 2.
He owned and operated Skorvanek's Market for many years until it closed in 1965. The store, founded in the 1920s, was the first superette in the Webster-Dudley area.
Mr. Skorvanek was also active in real estate and jobber marketing. He also owned and operated a taxi business, and an auto sales and repair business.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
He was born in Trenton, N.J., son of Michael J. Skorvanek Sr. and Anna (Stacho) Skorvanek, and lived here most of his life.
The funeral will be held tomorrow from Robert J. Miller Funeral Home, 366 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 18 Dudley Hill Road. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Webster.
Calling hours at the funeral home are private.
The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the Memorial Fund of St. Anthony of Padua Church, 18 Dudley Hill Road, 01570.
