'On Monday, 6 March 1679, the Campagna, Auclair, and Sedilot families were reunited in the house of Adrien Seidlot, Sieur de Brisval, and of Jeanne-Angelique Briere, his wife, at Quebec. Pierre Auclair, 'habitant living in this town', and Marie-Madeleine Sedilot were there to have their marriage contract approved before notarly Romain Becquet. One one side were Suzanne Aubineau, Andre Auclair, Anne Martin, wife of Pierre Campagna from Cap-Rouge; on the other side were Marie Grimoult, widow of Louis Sedilot, godmother and ancestress of the bride, and Uncle Jean Sedilot, Sieur de Montreuil, living on the Saint-Michel coast: All were burning with desire to hear the reading of the marriage agreement...'
