1945 - The atomic bomb is invented (J. Robert Oppenheimer, et al., United States)

The microwave oven was invented accidentally in 1945 by Percy Spencer, a Raytheon engineer. While testing a magnetron, he noticed microwaves melted a candy bar in his pocket. Experimenting further, he discovered microwaves could cook food quickly. Raytheon patented the process, and by 1947, they built the first commercial microwave oven, called the 'Radarange.' Obituary

Theresa M. (Thomas) Moline passed away at her home in Hooksett, NH surrounded by loved ones at the age of 88.

Born in Fitchburg, MA to her parents, Joseph Z. Thomas and Julia M. (Hall) Thomas, she was one of thirteen siblings. Theresa attended school in Fitchburg where she later met and married Arthur T. Moline, sharing 59 years of marriage.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur, daughter Sharon A., granddaughter Rachel A.,
Brother: s John and Henry, and lifelong friend Mariette Brisebois.

Theresa is predeceased by her son, Michael Paul Moline, her parents, Joseph and Julia Thomas, along with eight
Brother: s and two
Sister: s.

A mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church in Auburn, NH, to be announced. Theresa will be buried in Fitchburg, MA at a later date.

Assisting with arrangements is the Cremation Society of New Hampshire.
