MARQUETTE -- Louis Stan Buckmaster, 54, of 401 Rock Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Tuesday, December 18, 2001, at his home.

Stan was born April 16, 1947 in Northville, a son of Lloyd and Norma (Beaudry) Buckmaster. He moved to Marquette as a child and was a 1966 graduate of the Marquette Senior High School. Stan then entered the US Army where he served in Vietnam with the First Battalion Eighth Cavalry

Airborne Division. On June 14, 1969 he married the former Mary K. Inch and the couple began to establish their home and raise a family. Throughout the years, Stan worked at the Marquette Bottling Works, UP Office Supply,

owned Northland Office Supply, worked at the Marquette Elks Lodge #405 B.P.O.E., and was a stained glass artist.

Stan always enjoyed helping others, and served as a baseball and soccer coach for many years. Recently, utilizing the Internet, he spent many hours contacting Vietnam Veterans and reuniting them with their...Read full story
