Joseph was born October 1, 1691 at Wallingford, Connecticut. He was a farmer and owned farms in Wallingford and Farmington. On March 14, 1711-2, Joseph married Martha Collins in Wallingford. Martha, daughter of William & Sarah (Morrell) Collins, was born in 1688 and baptized October 8, 1726 at Cheshire, New Haven County, Connecticut. She died in Wallingford on July 29, 1769. Joseph and Martha had nine sons and one daughter.
Joseph died in January, 1756 at New Haven. His will was entered into the New Haven Probate Records on February, 1 1756.
