Little is known about his early life, but it's believed that he came from a patrician family and may have been trained as a goldsmith. This background in metallurgy would later prove crucial to his work in the field of printing.
In the mid-15th century, Gutenberg embarked on his groundbreaking project—the invention of the movable-type printing press. This ingenious device allowed individual letters and characters to be arranged and rearranged on a printing surface, making it possible to reproduce texts with unprecedented speed and efficiency.
