Biography
Born on May 4, 1929, in Brussels, Belgium, Audrey Kathleen Ruston (later known as Audrey Hepburn) was the daughter of a Dutch baroness and an English banker. Her early life was marked by challenges, including the separation of her parents and living through the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands during World War II. These difficult times had a profound impact on her, shaping her resilience and instilling a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.

Audrey's aspirations for ballet were dashed by her tall, slender frame, which was considered too tall for a prima ballerina. However, this setback led her to the world of acting. She made her first major impact on the stage in the West End production of 'Gigi' in 1951, earning critical acclaim for her performance.

Her breakthrough came with the film 'Roman Holiday' in 1953, where she starred alongside Gregory Peck. The role earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress, setting the stage for a remarkable career in Hollywood.
