Tracing Ancestors Through Military Service Records: Unveiling Family Heroes

Stevens HART died December 30, 2003 in Salem, Oregon, USA.

Stevens' mother wanted to visit her brother in Canada (paternal relatives from various places, originally Quebec area). They went up and Stevens was born there. He was never able to prove that his parents were citizens (Grandpa born in Minn, in 1870s but no accurate records at that time.) so he could never get a USA passport, Even though he served in the US Navy during WW2. It was a serious cause of hard feelings in the family.
