The House of the Seven Gables is a colonial-era mansion in Salem, Massachusetts, built in 1668 by merchant John Turner. It features a distinctive dark wooden exterior, steep gables, and a secret staircase. The house is now a museum and is best known for inspiring Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel of the same name.
