I only got to spend about my first 5 years with her, she had my sisters after me and I was kinda not needed or something and adopted by my grandmother Maxine Grace Cox and step grandfather John Comstock.
The time I had with her, then and when I got old enough was good times. Even the couple times she would come pick me up for what I don't remember, but was a good time, which were far and few between. She did have the innate ability to make you feel better no matter what your situation was, she would talk to you and things seemed better. Earliest memory was living in a log cabin, my little sister Rae Ann was born and used to get set in the window seat in her basket to nap while we-mom and me-did chores, work in the garden, and chop off toes...oh, yeah, we was cuttin watermelons out and she hit her toe and it was bad. I had to sit on the floor of the car and help push the brake pedal...wild ride. Remember the Columbus Day storm too-we lived on Hudson, and some schooling there at the school down the block, recently pulled memories of the move to Kelso on South Pacific, big ole 2 story house to haul my new sister up the stairs, Rea Ann ate potato bugs there, and Kellie was like one of the girls in my Dr. Seuss book, the little one with her hair straight up in a palm tree on top of her head...and winter there, had to haul my sisters down there to Danny's at the crack of dawn one snowy morning when no one was there. Power went off, we was freezing so I bundled them best I could and do remember eating cereal and watching Bugs Bunny, so it was a saturday morning first snow...she was my mom and I wish I could of grown up with her and my sisters and brothers-the twins, but thats their story and they can tell it....
