1962 - The Cuban Missile Crisis was a tense 13-day standoff in October 1962 between the United States and the Soviet Union over the installation of Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba, just 90 miles from the U.S. coast. Vicki F. Laney, 68, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at home with her loving wife by her side.
She leaves her partner of 36 years and wife of 15 years, Susan B. (Bohenko) Wheaton, step children; Thomas, Heather and Chad, brothers Don and Darrin, sisters; Donna, Paulette, Yvette and Renee, her extended family; Peggy and Harry, Joanne, Mary and Mike, Luanne and Paul, Dick and Linda and Pat and Maryanne as well as many, many nieces and nephews.
Vicki was born October 28, 1950 in Calais, Maine, daughter of the late Donald and Corrine (Haney) Laney.
She worked at Commerce Insurance Company for 25 years before retiring.
Vicki enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, trips to the White Mountains and Maine and playing miniature golf.
As per her wishes, services will be private.
