The Moyne was with Ribault and Laudonnière when they arrived in French Florida in 1562 and founded Charlesfort , then Fort Caroline in 1564 .
A Huguenot colony (Charlesville) was being erected there.
The ship returned to France for supplies; Le Moyne went with them. Good choice as the Spanish Fleet attacked the fort, killed all found there and razed the Fort with fire.
