"Love at first sight struck the heart of Noel Laurence in the autumn of 1667. A daughter of the king, Marie de Limoges, had just arrived from France where she met Noel. We have found no marriage contract but only an act in poor condition recorded in the registry of the chapel of Trois-Rivieres, dated Wednesday, 3 November 1667."
