His mother passed away when he was 5-6 years old, leaving him and his siblings as orphans. They were split up into foster homes.

1920 census states that he was adopted by Frederick Slade and Anna Theinert before 1920. He was never formally adopted. He was a foster child.

Married Lanor E. Davis - she was born 29 Jan 1915, the daughter of Thomas Davis and Hazel Baldwin. She died Nov 1979 in Key West, FL. Her Social Security card was issued in CT.

(4) Robert Borras b. 1912 Cuba. 1920, he is in Bristol, Connecticut, living with Albert Vuillenmeier and family. His relationship to head of household is "for adoption".

(5) Adolfo Borras b. June 16, 1915 Cuba, name changed to Benjamin Jackson Massey. In 1920, he is living in Bristol, Connecticut, with Benjamin H Massey and family. His relationship to head of household is "adopted son". He is living in Bristol, Connecticut in 1930 and 1940. He died in Florida, April 9, 2008.
