South New Haven, Dec 23. -- News has just been received here of the death of Fred J. Barnes in Seattle, Wash., Dec 5, 1908. Mr. Barnes was born in the town of New Haven, 44 years ago, where he has many relatives and friends, who will be grieved to learn of his death. His father, William Barnes, lost his life in the War of the Rebellion. Mrs. Barnes remarried and lived in this county several years, afterward moving to South Boardman, Michigan, with her family, where they resided until about two months ago, when they moved to Seattle, Wash. Mr. Barnes was well known throughout New Haven, Scriba, and Oswego. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, one daughter, his mother, and stepfather, one sister, Miss Nellie Insley, one brother, Frank Grandy, all of Seattle, Wash., besides a large circle of friends and relatives in this section. He was a nephew of Mrs. A.B. Wright of this place and of Mrs. B.D. Houghton of Oswego. The family have the sympathy of the many friends here.
