Catherine was 17 years old when she arrived in 1653 and she
married almost as soon as she got off the ship to Jean Villain.
Jean was killed by a falling tree within a few months. The next
year she married Nicolas Simon and they had one son they named
Nicolas Leonard Simon. Simon died two months after the birth of
his son. Catherine married Nicolas Millet dit Beauceron. A
larg e family resulted: Nicolas, Marie Charlotte, Jacques,
François, and Jean Mille t dit Beauceron and of course their
half brother Leonard Simon. When their hom e burned down on
March 9. 1674 Nicolas, the father died in the fire. In 1676
Marie Remy Desautels died leaving Joseph and Gabriel. Pierre
and Catherine app eared before the historian priest, Father
DeGasson to be married. Two more chi ldren, Pierre and Gilbert
were to complete the family. Pierre had 39 grandchildren and
Catherine had more than a dozen of her own. 65 great
grandchildren p lus Catherine account for over 17 distinct male
lines by 1750.
