Obituary

Joseph N. "Norman" Baker passed away to be with his Lord on December 6, 2020 after a brief illness.
Norman was born in Plainfield, CT to Walter J. Baker and Blanche (Duhaime).
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy H. Baker, of Westerly and his sons, Stephen (Sarah) of Westerly, Paul (Bonnye) of Charlestown, and Michael (James) of North Stonington, CT. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard J. Baker.
Norman served with the Army in the Korean War and was a life member of the VFW. He was also a member of the local German Club. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife and family which includes thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He loved sailing and working in his yard. He loved to dance and frequently attended his grandkids sporting events. In his younger days he coached Little League baseball in Hope Valley.
Norman was the founder and owner of Westmark Corporation, a textile converting business, in Sterling, Connecticut, which was founded 1981.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, 45 Elm Street, Westerly, Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10am. Burial is private. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, Westerly, RI is in charge of arrangements. For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com
