1815 - First Settler
The history of Saint-Rémi dates back to 1815, when the first settler, Alexis Perras, settled there. He began to clear the land and was then joined by other families (note that a first seigniory was created there in 1750, but that the settlement of the territory did not begin until 1815).

1831 - The parish of St-Rémi-de-Lasalle opened
On June 3, 1828, the parish of Saint-Rémi was canonically erected. Two years later, a first chapel was built. The municipality was established civilly in 1835. According to one version, Saint-Rémi was named in honor of Father Rémi Prudhomme, the first parish priest. According to another version, the name honors Daniel de Rémy de Courcelles, governor of New France who ordered the constitution of a seigneury on this territory.
