Essex - Teresa A. Tart, 73, of Whallons Bay, Essex, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Center with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Saranac Lake, April 22, 1935, the daughter of Zenofield and Mary (Lashway) White.
Teresa graduated from Willsboro High School in 1952. She was a member of the Catholic daughters, a 4-H leader, and a Sunday school teacher at St. Philip of Jesus Church.
Prior to her illness she was an avid outdoorswoman and especially enjoyed walking, biking, and hiking. She also enjoyed gardening, going to the beach with her children, having fun with friends, laughing, and playing Rummikub with her grandchildren and close friends. Teresa was a loving and devoted mother and homemaker who had a strong faith and could often be found reading the Bible. Her faith has always provided strength for her family in good times and difficult times, and they will treasure that forever.
She is survived by her husband, Harold E. Tart, whom she married January 20, 1954 at St. Philip of Jesus Church, Willsboro; four daughters, Debbie Jerdo and husband Doug of Saranac Lake, Linda Buttery and husband Roy of Concord, NC, Sharon Kinblom and husband Jeff of North River, and Pam Drollette and husband Rich of Willsboro; four sisters and spouses, Mary and Carlos Feltt of Latham, Margaret and John Parkinson of Keeseville, Virginia and Roy Sayward of Willsboro, and Julia and Fulton Sheehan of Wadhams; sister-in-law, Nellie White of Willsboro; grandchildren, Brent Jerdo and Melanie Wheaton and husband Jason, Jonathan, Sarah, and Leah Buttery, Trevor, Yana, Sasha, and Nathan Kinblom, and Aliceson and Robby Drollette; five great grandchildren, Liam, Brennan, and Gavin Wheaton and Angelina and Christopher Jerdo; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; three grandchildren, Joshua Jerdo, Lindsay Jerdo, and Chelsea Kinblom; and two brothers, Francis White, and George White.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 22, 2009 from 2 to 4pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11am at St. Philip of Jesus Church in Willsboro with Rev. Scott R. Seymour parish pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Willsboro.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Essex Rescue Squad.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru.
