"Captain Whipple and Martha Reyner had the following children, all born in Ipswich:

Joseph Whipple was born 6 Mar 1664 and died in Ipswich in August 1665 at one year of age
Joseph Whipple was born 8 June 1666
Sarah Whipple was born 2 Sept 1671...

Susanna Whipple... was born in Ipswich in 1661 and died 4 August 1713 in Billerica, Mass. at 52 years of age. She married Maj. John Lane in Salem, Essex Co, Mass. 2 January 1681. The Register 10:256, and Lane Genealogies report a marriage date of 20 March 1680. Ipswich Vital Records, 2:454 gives the date as 20 December 1683. The Compendium of American Genealogy, 3, says their marriage occurred in 1681. Susannah, their first child, was born 24 January 1682, thus it appears Ipswich Vital Records is wrong..."
