Moses PENGRY - Bio
DEACON MOSES PENGRY WAS AT IPSWICH, MASSACHUSETTS AS EARLY AS 1641 AND ESTABLISHED A SALT WORKS THERE IN 1652. HE HELD THE OFFICE OF SELECTMAN AND SERVED FOR MANY YEARS AS DEACON OF THE CHURCH. IN 1658 HE WAS GRANTED A LICENSE TO SELL LIQUOR AND TO KEEP AN INN THESE LICENSES WERE RENEWED FOR MANY YEARS (PILLSBURY ANCESTRY, PP. 981-984).
