Whitestone, whit'stön, a post-village of Queens co., N.Y., in Flushing township, on the Flushing & North Side Railroad, and on Long Island Sound, 11% miles E.N.E. of Brooklyn. It has 4 churches, a large summer hotel, a news paper office, a public hall, a savings-bank, and a large manufactory of tin-ware. Steamboats ply regularly between Whitestone and New York, which is 12 miles distant, and about 40 railroad-trains from New York arrive and depart daily. Pop. in 1890, 2808.
