Carlisle, a post-hamlet of Schoharie co., N.Y., in Carlisle township, 6 miles N. of Cobleskill, and about 40 miles W. of Albany. It has a church. The township has a furnace, a tannery, a cheese-factory, &c. Pop. of the township, 1634.
