Babylon, a banking post-village, seaside-resort, and township (town) of Suffolk co., N.Y., situated on the Great South Bay (S. shore of Long Island) and on the Long Island R., 36 miles E. by S. of Brooklyn. It has fishing- and oyster-industries. Pop. in 1900, 2167 ; of the town, 7112.
