Franklin, N. J. (AP) - A father and four children were burned to death in a fire that all but destroyed their two story frame house.
The bodies were charred beyond recognition. Police Chief Herbert C. Irons said the fire was probably caused by an overheated wood stove in the kitchen.
The dead:
JAMES W. CONGLETON, 36.
LUCY WINIFRED, 14.
ELSIE MARIE, 12.
SADIE MARIE, 9.
PAUL LEONARD, 6.
The mother and two other children were away visiting at the time of the fire.
