ADDING, UPDATING, DELETING ANCESTORS AND ANCESTOR INFORMATION

This screen allows you to add, update, and delete people, life events and marriages. It is the main screen for the person.

ADDING NEW INFORMATION ABOUT A PERSON:
If you want to add life events (census information, city directory information, newspaper articles, etc.) related to the person, click the Add button under 'History, Life Events, News, Stories'.

If you want to add a new marriage for this person, click the Add Spouse/Partner button. You will be directed to a screen that will allow you to find the spouse and add the marriage information. NOTE: The spouse must already exist in the system in order to add a new marriage.

If this person is married, you have the ability to add a child/children for this couple. Click on the Add Child button (associated with the correct marriage) to do that. You will be guided through a process to add the child(ren).

UPDATING INFORMATION ABOUT A PERSON:
If you want to update basic information about a person, including their birth and death information, click the button.

If you want to update information on life events (census information, city directory information, newspaper articles, etc.) related to the person, click the button under 'History, Life Events, News, Stories'.

If you want to update marriage information for this person, click the button next to the marriage you wish to update.

DELETING A PERSON:
Use this in the case where you make a mistake that is not correctable. If you choose to delete, the person will be erased from the system. Use this feature with extreme caution.

To delete a person, click the button. Confirm your delete by clicking Delete on the following screen. NOTE: People can only be deleted if they are not associated with any marriages, children, pictures or life events. It is also not possible to delete people who have been identified as direct ancestors of other users of this system.

DELETING INFORMATION ABOUT A PERSON:
If you want to delete life events (census information, city directory information, newspaper articles, etc.) related to the person, click the button next to the item you want to delete under 'History, Life Events, News, Stories'.

If you want to delete new marriage for this person, click the button next to the marriage you want to delete.

NOTE: You can only delete people and information if YOU have added it. If other people have added your ancestors to their tree, you will NOT be able to delete the ancestors.
