François Benoit was born 13 May 1723 in Saint-Charles-des-Mines, Acadia. François Benoit was the child of Claude Benoit and Jeanne Hébert and the grandchild of: (paternal)  Martin Benoit dit Labriere and Marie Chaussegros (maternal)  Étienne Hébert and Jeanne Comeau

He married  Françoise Daigle 4 February 1761 in Boston, Province of Massachusetts Bay .  The couple had (at least) 5 children. Françoise Daigle  was born abt. 1738 in , Acadia, Canada (Acadie) .  She died 30 December 1813 in Saint-Ours, Québec, Canada (Immaculée-Conception) .  She was the daughter of Charles Daigle and Françoise Doucet.
